OFSTED

We recently had an Ofsted Inspection.  Overall, I am pleased to report that Chancellor’s School remains a ‘Good’ school and it was lovely to hear Mark Phillips, the Lead Inspector, describe us as “thoroughly good”.

I would like to thank our students for completing the Ofsted surveys. I would also like to take this opportunity to recognise our students for their general impeccable behaviour, not only during the inspection but also every day whilst they are on the school site. The Ofsted inspectors were accurate in their observation that the students at Chancellor’s “take responsibility for their own actions” and “they are respectful, articulate and mature in attitude.”

The inspectors were very impressed with the “ambitious and well-planned curriculum”, the school’s “clear expectations for teaching and learning” and “the impressive range of extra-curricular activities” which is offered to all students. They also acknowledged that “these expectations result in good GCSE and A-Level examination results.”

The inspection team provided us with useful feedback to support our ambition to be outstanding. This involves continuing to develop the practice and provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disability as well as refining our whole school assessment, so that it is consistent and strong across all subjects.
