Enrolment

For prospective Year 12 students (parents and students to please read)

I would like to clarify the enrolment process for Chancellor’s Sixth Form and outline the schedule for the first two days of the Autumn term (Friday 5 September and Monday 8 September).

Enrolment Dates

Once you get your GCSE results on Thursday 21 August, you can choose to enrol into Chancellors Sixth Form.

21 August 9.00am - 2.00pm   (location – School Hall)

To be considered for enrolment, please attend on this day. There may be a short wait, but this is the appropriate time to enrol if you have achieved the required entry grades for your chosen subjects.

If you wish to change any of your subject choices after receiving your results, you may do so, as long as you have the necessary grades, you discuss the change with us, and your subjects are in separate blocks. Subjects within the same block run at the same time and cannot be taken together.

Important for External Students:
If you did not sit your GCSEs at Chancellor’s, please bring a physical copy of your results. We can only access records for exams taken at Chancellor’s, and all results must be verified.

22 August  9.30am – 2.00pm (location – E Block upstairs in the Sixth Form Meeting Room).

Students who were unable to attend on 21 August are invited to enrol on this day. New applicants to Chancellor’s and those who have taken time to consider their options are also welcome to enrol at this time.

Staff will be on hand throughout the day to verify documents, answer questions, and support any changes to subject selections. We recommend reviewing your subject choices in advance and preparing any questions or documentation to help ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Enrolment is a crucial step towards securing your place in Sixth Form and confirming your chosen subjects. The minimum entry requirement is five GCSEs at grade 5 or above. Please note that individual subjects have specific entry criteria. If you are unsure about your eligibility for a particular subject, you must speak directly with the relevant subject teacher.

After 21 August, the most effective way to contact subject staff is by email. Please allow some time for a response.

26 August  9.30am – 2.00pm (location – E Block upstairs in the Sixth Form Meeting Room)

This is the third and final enrolment day before the start of term. Any student who has not yet enroled must attend on this day. Please be aware there may be a short wait.

An INSET day will take place on 4 September but there may be a brief opportunity to speak with subject staff at 3pm, every effort should be made to contact them before this date.

To help ensure a smooth enrolment process, please arrive with all required paperwork and identification. If you anticipate any issues with attending or need alternative arrangements, contact the Sixth Form team in advance.

Our goal is to make your transition into Sixth Form as welcoming and efficient as possible. We look forward to meeting you and supporting you as you embark on this next exciting stage in your academic journey.

Induction Day Two - 5 September 2025

Our first Induction Day took place in July, where students met their subject teachers and sampled A level lessons.

Induction Day Two features’ workshops and support sessions to familiarise Year 12 students with Sixth Form routines and expectations. Attendance is mandatory.

The day runs from 8.25am to 3.00pm, by which time enrolment and timetable distribution should be complete. A level classes begin on Monday 8 September.

For any questions about enrolment that remain unanswered, please contact whitelockj@chancellors.herts.sch.uk via email between 22 August and 4 September.
